Operations Coordinator

Our client is a well-established company in commercial painting, plastering and wallpapering, operating for over 25 years in the industry.  They are seeking to fill an important role in their team and they look forward to hearing from qualified candidates.

Operations Coordinator

Located in Mississauga and reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be a critical member of our team and a dedicated team player facilitating the exchange of information, paper work, design details and much more between our employees, vendors, suppliers and sub trades. A skilled and clear communicator, you will coordinate the following areas:

  • Bid development support for inbound projects that are being tendered
  • Assist with overall project performance, including schedule and quality
  • Read and review drawings
  • Develop email and telephone relationships with vendors
  • Gather all info and supplies/samples from suppliers
  • Prepare and organize samples and ready them for presentation to Architects
  • Ensure that all workers on-site have all their Health & Safety paperwork up to date, i.e. WHMIS, WSIB, Insurance, per project
  • Interact with senior executives within our organization
  • Demonstrate our vision for project completion, including maintenance and warranty manuals, as well as archiving documents
  • Learn how to identify and research potential project complications

In addition to daily administrative tasks, you will also be responsible for coordinating the development and upkeep of all marketing collateral and social media requirements on an ongoing basis via 3rd party specialists. This critical Hub role can also pave the way to future management positions as the business evolves.

Skills & Experience

  • Over 3 years of construction experience in an operational/coordinating role
  • Knowledge of bid estimating, tendering and design build contracts would be ideal
  • Working towards Gold Seal or PMP certification are assets but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of local market conditions
  • Relationship savvy with solid interpersonal skills to demand the respect of all stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Familiar with Estimating Software
