Territory Sales Manager – MN, WI, SD, ND, IL

Our client is a major international supplier of household consumer products and is the largest privately-owned company of its kind in North America. We immediately seek a:

Territory Sales ManagerMN, WI, SD, ND, IL

Ideally based in north central US, the Territory Manager’s primary responsibility involves selling and promoting the company’s vast array of industry leading products through a dealer direct network within the designated geographic area. The primary focus is to develop relationships with the right type of dealers with future business in mind. Additionally, part of the job involves helping dealers in their ongoing activities and representing the company in a professional manner.

Duties / Activities / Responsibilities:

* Aggressively grow sales in assigned geographic territory and as determined by the Western Regional Manager.

* Develop and grow traditional and non-traditional dealer base. [Specialty Retail]

* Visit dealers to demonstrate new and current products, show samples and write orders.

* Schedule sales calls and promote the company to all dealers in assigned territory.

* Quote pricing prepare proposals and provide information to dealers regarding terms, sales and availability of product including stocked warehouse products.

* Provide product training on existing and new product to dealers and relevant dealer sales and support staff.

* Work closely with dealers and plan and support weekend events including product demos, cooking and product merchandising.

* Work closely with dealers in assisting them with showroom product merchandising, plan-o-gram set up and fulfillment.

* Assist and participate in national, regional and local promotions including trade and consumer shows where applicable.

* Present and book business through monthly specials and early buy programs.

* Actively communicate company activities and events through ‘Social Media’ such as Facebook and Twitter.

* Prepare monthly sales report detailing sales, activities, significant events, competition, etc.

* Collect competitor’s information on their products and pricing.

* Maintain at all times a variety of demo products for demonstration and use. (To be determined by the National Sales Manager).

* Extensive territory travel and some weekend work as required.

* The ability to travel throughout USA and Canada from time to time.

* The ability to work from home office environment

Knowledge / Education / Experience:

* Must have experience of supporting and growing product sales in a defined sales territory within the specialty retail environment.

* A Hunter mentality in search of NEW Business

* Must have a University Degree.

* Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Must be able to work independently and with limited supervision.

* Time management skills.

* Proficiency in basic computer skills including knowledge of e-mail, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Social Media applications and ideally SalesForce.com.

Compensation:

* Attractive base salary paid bi-weekly.

* Uncapped sales commission based on sales targets met in assigned territory.
