 HVAC Sales Representative – GTA East

Reporting to the Ontario Regional Sales Manager, the sales rep is responsible for driving up sales revenue while implementing marketing strategies within the GTA region. Sales objectives are met by executing company planning and sales procedures as well as other activities which are in line with the overall billing goals. Your product focus is residential furnaces and AC.

Promote and sell the Company’s wide range of HVAC products through both the contractor and distributor networks within the assigned geographic territory. Emphasis to be placed on the identification and recruitment of a qualified customer network and the development of future business opportunities within the territory. This also includes direct contact with the Construction/Builder Sector for the promotion of our product.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Aggressively grow sales and promote brand in an assigned geographic territory and as determined by the Canadian Sales Manager.
  • Develop and grow both a traditional and non-traditional customer base.
  • Manage customer base – Dealer and Distributor. Promote and secure new sales opportunities by way of cold calling and networking, while maintaining existing client relationships
  • Consult clients as an HVAC expert by informing them of technical advantages in our product line and answering any questions.
  • Schedule sales calls and promote company and related brands to customers in the assigned territory.
  • Visit customers to support new and current product, problem solve and mitigate any problems while promoting orders.
  • Responsible for preparing job quotes/proposals as well as obtaining results of said quotes.
  • Develop programs and promotions specific to territory
  • Support customers own trade events (on weekends or evenings as necessary).
  • Work closely with customers in assisting them with showroom product merchandising, POP set up and fulfillment.
  • Assist and participate in national, regional and local promotions including trade and consumer shows, where applicable.
  • Responsible for preparing regular reports on territory activity (present and projected) as required. Reports to contain (not limited to) sales activity, industry news, dealer initiatives etc.

Knowledge

  • Technically adept in HVAC equipment and the HVAC industry.
  • Professional selling and strong negotiating capabilities
  • Understanding of marketing functions and concepts
  • Sound knowledge of business and management principles and practices
  • Computer literate in Office Suite plus experience with SalesForce.com

 

 

Skills & Education

  • Must have a High School Diploma
  • Preference given to those who have post-secondary education in Business, Marketing and/or Commerce and/or trade related certificate
  • Must have previous experience supporting and growing product sales in a defined sales territory within a specialty technical sector as well as the builder channel
  • Previous experience in the building products trade is considered an asset
  • Lead development and qualification skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to drive sales
  • Collaborative team player with a focus on internal and external customer excellence
  • Highly motivated by challenge, incentives and excellent at opening doors and closing the deal
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel regularly in the GTA plus a valid passport for occasional US travel
